The Movement Mechanic
Millane has been obsessed with all things movement and exercise for years and recently made the move back from Australia—gaining a renewed appreciation for growing up in New Zealand, including his love of barefoot shoes and gumboots (still his footwear of choice). He strongly believes that progress is more often limited by the mind than the body. With extensive experience in rehabilitation and performance training, including working with golfers, Millane is highly skilled at identifying injury compensations. By understanding where and why the body compensates, he tailors how exercises are performed to restore movement patterns, reduce pain, and improve overall function. His approach focuses on correctly loading muscles, tendons, or ligaments—rather than just pushing through discomfort. Millane has also worked closely with doctors, specialists, and surgeons, helping bridge the gap between exercise physiology and real-world outcomes for health, recovery, and performance. His philosophy is simple: training should be smart, effective, and enjoyable—with plenty of learning and a good laugh along the way. Life’s a laugh.
